THANKS

The Foundation is a charity - which means no-one gets paid to do anything, and any money we raise from competitions, fund-raising, etc. goes straight back into fencing.

The Council members are all fencing parents who travel up and down the country during the season for competitions (and back and forth to club nights and coaching sessions all year round). We also all have day jobs that only leaves a limited amount of time to spend on "Foundation type stuff".
(BTW - none of us are fencers ourselves - which surprises some folks, but just shows that you don't need to know how to fence to help others enjoy their fencing...)

This also means we are totally dependent upon the people, companies and organisations who offer their help, support, sponsorship, discounts, assistance, guidance and lots of other things to help us help the fencers and young people the Foundation seeks to target.

We're always careful to say "THANK YOU" to each and every person or body that helps us out on behalf of the fencers - but you can't say it loudly enough or too often - so these pages are to let us say once again (and to do so 24x7 across the entire interweb) how much we appreciate the help you have given us and the difference you've made to the delivery of the sport of fencing in Scotland.

If you're a fencer who competes in one of the YDS comps (or a fencing parent), or use some of the kit we have been able to provide thanks to the effort of the folks listed here then please make sure you tell them how much their help means to you when you see them too!

Thanks,

F4SF

Allstar UK

We are delighted that for the second year running those friendly folks Bob & Paul at Allstar UK have offered to sponsor the Youth Development Series - you're the tops guys!!

Allstar are already heavily involved in supporting fencing at the grass-roots in Scotland, they've been long term sonsors of Scottish Fencing and both coach weekly in Edinburgh (while they aren't answering phones, travelling to comps or otherwise doing fencing stuff).

If you're a YDS fencer then you owe your comps to Allstar UK - if they didn't support us then the YDS would still be just an idea...

They are usually to be found at one of the comps and if you see them then go and tell them you think they're great too!

Allstar were also kind enough to cut us a good deal when we were looking for Sabre kit recently - thanks to them we got loads more kit that we would otherwise have been able to buy. If you're using a Sabre to beat your mates on a club night, check the handle - its probably one of Bob and Pauls...

Leon Paul UK

Leon Paul UK are a name already well-known to any fencer, and they have been really helpful to and supportive of the Foundation - for which we are very, very grateful.

As an example - by dramatically discounting their prices on fencing equipment, Barry and Joan enabled us to get over 25% more sabre kit than we would otherwise have managed from our recent Awards for All grant.

If you see anyone from Leon Paul at a UK competition please make sure you thank them for their support - without people like Barry and Joan Paul we'd be hard pushed to support Fencing in Scotland anywhere near as well as we can today.
