Photo-hosting Policy
The general policy for putting photographs on the Foundation web site is as follows:
- NO photographs taken by an appointed Foundation photographer, on behalf of the Foundation or provided to the Foundation will be passed to any third party except with the permission of the photographed subject or their parent/guardian.
- Photographs will generally be hosted within Shockwave slide shows rather than as jpg, bmp or similar files. This reduces the likelihood of “harvesting” of images by individuals or automated tools.
- Photographs will in general be no larger than 400x300 and may have their quality degraded purposely if identification of a minor might be an issue.
- Large and high quality photographs may exist – however these will not be placed anywhere on the web site – including in temporary file caches.
- Photographs will not be used where there is a specific request not to do so – if a parent, fencer or other person requires a photograph to be removed from the site please use this link to email us.
Note: Where photographs show other fencers we may obfuscate the fencer for whom the request is made, rather than remove the whole photograph. - Parents or fencers may request a higher resolution jpg image of a specific photograph of their child or themselves. To do this:
- Send us an email requesting a copy of the photograph you would like – click here
- This email MUST be sent from the email address provided in the contact section of the relevant YDS round entry form and will only be provided to that address
- The photograph is provided on the condition that it is used for personal purposes only and not reissued without authorisation
- The Foundation may elect to obfuscate or remove details from the photograph where it is considered necessary to protect the privacy or interests of other persons in the photograph.
Thanks,
F4SF
